*A Barton & Co.(Toys) Ltd started trading officially in 1945, as soon as the war finished.
*The first official trademark of Bartons was an ink stamp of a diamond with the letter A B & Co. Then in 1949 this was replaced with a label for a time.
*Bartons flourished, using other suppliers for certain items eg.Barrett & Son metal items, Grecon Dolls, Kaybot plaster food.
*In 1975 the Caroline’s Home Range was brought out. By now the use of plastic was extensive.

Vintage Barton Mangle & Bowl @ £14.50
Here is a metal wire Barton mangle, with rubber rollers that rotate via the side handle. There is a lower tin shelf which is useful for standing this blue plastic bowl on. There is some wear to the painted metal wire and a little rust to the upper metal bits including under the rollers, which seems to suggest that a little previous owner has had great fun wringing out their mini dolly washing on this…..fabulous!!! So I would say this mangle and plastic bowl are in a relatively good played with condition, some wear. Measures 2 5/8″ high x 2″ at base x 1 1/4″ deep at base. Nice items.

Vintage Early 1950s Barton Hall Stand (Missing Drawer) @ £10.95
Here is an earlier version of a brown varnished Barton’s hall stand, with two lower opening doors, a heavily tarnished mirror, two umbrella/walking stick holders either side and four large metal tack hanging hooks. Please note that the lower drawer is missing but the empty hole could be useful for storage too. The handles on the doors are black stained wood, later versions of this item would have had metal handles. On the back is the price of 4/3, which is delightful and a sign of the times!:) Overall this is in a relatively good played with condition, however the heavily tarnished mirror and missing drawer is reflected in the price. Measures 4″ high x 2 3/8″ wide x 1 1/4″ deep.

c1950s Barton Metal Polishing Mop @ £13.50
This is a delightful polishing mop believed to be by Barton and available in the 1950s. One of those pieces not seen as much nowadays. It has a green painted metal handle and a fascinating mop head created cleverly from what seems to be cotton string, over a black painted metal movable hoop. Overall this is in a good played with condition, some wear to the paintwork particularly. Measures 4 1/4″ when mop fully extended. When mop head pushing into 90% angle for cleaning measures 3″ high. Lovely item

1950s Barton Electric Wooden Cooker @ £6.50
This is one of the earlier Barton dolls houses, from the 1950s. It is made from wood with an opening oven door, a grill space and a silver hob paper detail. There is a little metal handle painted red. On the back is a pencil mark of 2/11 which I am assuming is the price. Overall this is in a good played with condition, the paper hob detail is quite worn. Nice item though. Measures back height 3 1/4″ x hob height 2 1/8″ x 1 1/2″ width and depth.

Vintage Barton Pink Plaster Bathroom Suite @ £14.50 SOLD
Here is a vintage pink plaster bathroom suite, still with original metal taps and lift up plastic toilet seat As you can see, there are a few chips in the plaster, mainly in three of the four corners of the bath and just one or two teeny minor nibbles around the toilet and sink. These plaster items would have been quite fragile in young hands so it is a miracle that any survived at all. This is quite a delightful set. Bath measures 4 1/4″ long x 1 1/2″ deep x 1 1/2″ high to top of taps. Sink stands at a height of 2 1/4″ to top of taps. Look measures a sitting height of 1 1/8″.
