General

All items on this page are of various scales and include not only genuine antique and vintage items, but also KT Miniatures handmade vintage style miniatures too.  For ease I have given measurements and where possible also stated what scale I think the item is. Many old dolls houses do not conform and scale is a mismatch. In this case, my advice would be to forget about scale and simply fill your little abodes with what you like.

Antique German Metal Lamp Stand & Celluloid Shade @ £29.00

These rarely come along fully intact these days, the celluloid shades particularly are so delicate and fragile.   This yellowish celluloid lampshade does have a tiny 1/2″ crack in the top, plus a slight dent on one side but this is still absolutely delightful and remarkable that it survived in young hands at all! The stand is metal and still has original wiring but would have no idea whether it still works. The stand is also a little tarnished. Lovely item though. Stands at a height of 2 1/2″ high.

Rare Vintage Kleeware Hard Plastic Double Pedestal Desk @ £21.00

This is a first for me and probably the most rare miniature piece of Kleeware furniture  I have put up for sale to date! It is truly delightful and a special piece for the serious collector who likes the plastic furniture. Never handled one quite like this before, the usual Kleeware desks are far more simple, a very different design and most definitely do not have drawers that open!

Here is an unusual and quite rare vintage hard red plastic double pedestal desk with moulded detail and what is most remarkable for a Kleeware item,  is that the bottom drawers on each side actually open! I do not recall any other Kleeware piece of furniture that has any kind of movable drawers? We know this is made by Kleeware as it is marked underneath : KLEEWARE MADE IN ENGLAND. As you would expect with any vintage plastic item that has been well played with, there is some wear but overall this is in a good played with and solid condition. Measures 4″ wide x 2 1/2″ high x 2 1/4″ deep.

c1951 Unusual Hand Painted Cat Fully Glazed @ £14.50

This is utterly charming!  If you are a cat lover and looking for an unusual painting to hang on your dolls house wall then how about this?  This has been hand painted by “Jeff” in 1951, we know this because it has been written on the back in ink. Sadly I cannot decipher what is written above.  The front is fully glazed and it has been given a mock frame by the use of clear tape around the edges.  Overall this is in a good condition. Measures 2  1/4″ x 1 7/8″.

Suitable for 1/16th scale and 1/12th scale dolls house.

Vintage Plastic Sewing Machine & Table @ £14.50

I adore this vintage sewing machine and table, it is a real favourite of mine! This is far from being rare, as there are a lot of these still around but a lot are either damaged, missing bits, warped from heat or whatever. This however, is a lovely example of a fully intact plastic sewing machine and table.

When fully erected the sewing machine stands upright and the table flap extends outwards. There are two opening drawers to keep all your miniature sewing items in! The yellow pedal flap underneath can move up and down when pressed. The handle on the sewing machine can be rotated and it moves the “needle” up and down. Fabulous! If you want to put the sewing machine away, all you need to do is lift up the back flap and the sewing machine will automatically drop down, then you simply bring the table flap over and it covers up the hole where the machine is hiding away.  To erect the machine, you simply open up the table flap, lift up the back flap and push up the sewing machine until it clicks into place. Isn’t it gorgeous! On the back there is an embossed manufacturer’s mark: No 8001 MADE IN GREAT BRITAIN.  Overall this is in a good played with condition. Measures 3  1/4″ wide x 1 1/2″ deep x 2″ table height x 2  3/4″ to top of sewing machine when fully erected.

Antique Large Scale Blue Painted Soft Metal Poker & Tongs @ £9.50

Here are two blue painted soft metal fireside tools, believed to be of German origin and early 1900s. They are quite decorative and could look rather lovely adorning the hearth of an antique fireplace. The blue painted finish has worn off in places but considering the age of these and how fragile they would have been in youngsters hands, it is amazing they have survived at all. Each piece measures 2 3/4″ long so quite a large scale.

Two Vintage Decorative Earring “Chandeliers” @ £9.50

These are a bit of fun and belonged to the previous owner’s elderly mother who had them in her antique dolls house as chandeliers, so there must be quite some age to these. It is always good to think laterally when it comes to our old dolls houses, so much around us could look fantastic in our dolls houses!  These are simple old costume jewelry earrings but are very pretty as the light catches the glass(?) beads. They are in a good played with condition. Each earring hangs down to an approximate length of  2″.  Hopefully someone else can now put these to good use.

Vintage Pond & Metal Bulrushes/Fences @ £35.00

This is lovely and so unusual!!

Here is a little pond made from a kind of modelling clay/plaster on top of some kind of board or wood base? The water detail has been painted and is covered in real glass to give a realistic water effect.  Accompanying this set is a pair or painted lead bulrushes and a pair of lead fencing posts . The latter pair I think were made by Britains, but it is difficult to make out the makers mark. The bulrushes are unmarked. Previous owner thought the pond may have been made by Crescent but so far I have not been able to find anything similar out there. But I suspect this has been commercially produced. It really is lovely and would look fantastic either in front or behind a vintage dolls house! Measures 5″  x 4 1/4″.

1930s German Desk  @ £10.50

Here is a super wooden desk in a read mahogany type stain/varnish and original papered top. Believed to be of German origin from the 1930s. The two doors open but the drawer is for imitation only. All original metal tack handles still remain. Nice item, in a reasonably good played with condition, some wear. Measures 5 1/4″ wide x 1 7/8″ deep x 2 3/8″ high.

Suitable for 1/12th scale dolls house.

1950s Kleeware Blue Plastic Mantel Clock @ £4.50

Here is a delightful instantly recognisable blue plastic mantel clock by Kleeware, from the 1950s. The paper clock face is still intact behind the plastic clock cover. The paper clock faces have a habit of coming unstuck and moving round inside the clock…but this one is fine! In a good played with condition, some wear.  Measures 1 1/2″ wide x 1/2″ deep x 5/8″ high.

Ref; Kleeware Blue Clock

Suitable for both 1/12th scale and 1/16th scale dolls house

Old German Wooden Grandfather Clock : £13.50

Here is a delightful wooden (oak?) dolls house grandfather clock, believe to be of German origin and pre-war. The clock face is paper, am not sure if this is original or replacement, and old metal rim. In a reasonably good played with condition, some wear. Measures 4 1/2″ high x 1 1/2″ wide x 1 1/8″ deep.

Ref: German Wooden Grandfather Clock

Suitable for either 1/16th and 1/12th scale dolls house

Vintage Wooden Hall Seat  (Hobbies Design) @ £9.50

This is a lovely wooden hall seat with lift up lid. The front has an attractive additional wooden panel embellishment. The top of the two side panels have fretwork cut out handle pieces. The top of the back panel is attractively shaped. This  whole seat has been given a slightly reddish stained finish. This is understood to have been made from an old “Hobbies” Design. Overall this is in a good played with condition, some wear. Measures 2 5/8″ wide x 1 1/4″ deep x 1 7/8″ high.

Suitable for 1/12th scale dolls house or old dolls house where scale does not matter

Vintage German Black Painted Wooden Clock /Metal Dial @ £7.50

Here is a delightful large scale vintage wooden dolls house clock, believed to be of German origin. It is  in a black painted finish, complete with metal clock face and metal hands that have been created to be set at a position of 20 minutes apart which are movable. The central hole at the top and on the back  of the clock are nail holes, not woodworm holes . These would have been made by the maker to keep the clock still whilst this was being created on the workbench. In a relatively good played with condition, some wear. Measures 2 1/8″ wide x 1 1/8″ high x 5/8″ deep.

Vintage  German Wooden Clock /Metal Dial @ £4.50

This is a simple vintage wooden  clock, believed to be of German origin. The clock is in a dark varnished finish.  It has a metal clock face with metal hands that have been created to be set at a position of 20 minutes apart and are slightly movable. This is in a good played with condition. Measures 1 1/8″ at widest point x 1/2″ deep x 1 5/8″ high.

Unusual Vintage Electric Fire @ £18.00

Here is an extremely unusual  all wooden electric fire, presumably meant to  sit on the hearth of an existing fireplace.  Or I suppose it could be used as a freestanding fire anywhere in the dolls house? It is quite chunky in size,  so please take note of measurements before ordering. I love this, it is quite striking and effective. I cannot make up my mind if this has been commercially produced or homemade, but whoever constructed it, made it well! Age is unknown too, but there is certainly some age to this….perhaps 1950s (could even be 1930s)? It has been given a dark brown painted finish with  coordinating lighter coloured strips up each side and along the top edge. The central piece has been painted in a silver metal kind of finish, complete with two brightly painted element strips in red, orange and yellow…absolutely fabulous. On each side there are two imitation wooden switches – please note these do not move and are for effect only. On the back there is remnants of something that was once stuck on the back lower left..perhaps it may have been a label? Overall this is in a good played with condition, some wear to the paintwork, particularly the top as the paint is a little bubbled/crinkled. Measures 2 7/8″ overall width to end of switches x 2 1/4″ high x 1 1/4″ depth.

Quite chunky so more suitable for larger scale dolls house or old dolls house where scale does not matter

Large Scale Vintage Tootsietoy Phone @ £8.50

Here is a vintage white painted Tootsietoy phone with removable receiver which is attached to main body of phone by green cord. The dial is fixed and for effect only. As you can see, overall this is in a well played with condition with considerable paint loss, plus three of the notches on the receiver holder are long gone but the receiver still perches nicely in place. On the base it is marked TOOTSIETOY MADE IN U.S.A. Measures 1 7/8″ overall width x 1″ diameter at base x 1″ high. Even though this is heavily aged, it is a nice item.

Rare  Early 1900s Erhard and Söhne Ormolu Dinner Gong & Beater £59.00

Here is an increasingly rare Erhard & Söhne gong with beater. It is listed as No. 3099 in the Erhard & Söhne catalogue and can also be seen in the  Swantje-Koehler – Verlag  “Ormolu Dollhouse Accesories” book. It is in completely original and excellent played with condition. Even has the original red hanging cord, and it is especially delightful to still have the beater that hangs neatly on the side…these are so often missing. Measures just under 3″ high x 2″ wide.

Ref: Erhard & Söhne Dinner Gong & Beater

Suitable for 1/12th scale dolls house or old dolls house where scale does not matter.

Three Tiny Vintage German Wooden Trees @ £4.00

This is a first for KT Miniatures! Could be useful to someone, or even if you just put them on a tiny shelf for display?

Here are three tiny green painted wooden trees, from a vintage toy model village presumably and probably German origin. Very sweet. Their aged faded patina give these extra character.  Could look particularly effective with one of the very small scale dolls houses? Each tree measures 1 1/2″ high.

Ref: Three Tiny Wooden Trees

Probably most suitable with a very small scale dolls house

Antique Clear Glass Vase @ £8.50

This is a lovely antique clear glass vase,  believed to be early 1900s.   Unlike the preciseness and perfection in shape of the modern day miniature glass vases, the rim of this is delightfully not quite so perfect in shape, which   just adds to the character!  This is commonly found with the antique miniature glass pieces, the photo does not do it justice. Measures 1 1/2″ high. In good played with condition.

Suitable for 1/12th scale dolls house or old house where scale does not matter

Vintage Wooden Desk @ £10.50

Here is an unusual vintage wooden desk with a deep opening drawer, believed to be from the 1950s/60s.  I am not sure if this has been commercially produced or if it has been homemade, it has certainly been well made that is for sure and is a solid piece. I am calling this a desk, but it appears that at one time there would have been an extension piece on the side as there is a swivel support piece of wood tucked away out of view, could this originally been intended  as a sewing machine table? What an intriguing item. The handle on the drawer is an old upholstery tack. This is a really nice  useful piece of furniture in a good played with condition. Measures 3 5/8″ long x 2 1/8″deep  x 2 1/2″ high.

Ref: Wooden Desk

Suitable for 1/12th scale dolls house

Reproduction Pair Of Painted Metal Toby Jugs @  £13.50

Here is a pair of modern reproduction painted metal Toby Jugs that came together so am selling them as a pair, they are not so old and came with a mixed collection of  dolls house items from various eras. I think they are possibly by Warwick Miniatures and Phoenix Model Developments? They have been nicely painted, particularly the smaller one,  and are quite charming. The slimmer jug is in a worn condition with some paint loss, but the other is in excellent condition. The taller one measures 5/8″ high and the other one just marginally smaller.

Early 1900s German Set Of Three Fireside Tools @ £15.00

Here is an early 1900s  set of three antique soft metal decorative gilt coloured fireside tools, comprising of a poker, tongs and shovel. They are lovely. Originally there would have been a stand that these hung on, but sadly long gone. Overall these are in a good played with condition, some loss of gilt colour off all three tools. Each piece measures 1 1/2″ long.

Suitable for 1/12th or 1/16th scale dolls house

Unusual Tiny Antique Wire Plant Stand @ £14.50

This is quite an unusual and rather lovely  plant stand, completely made from metal wire and believed to originate from the early 1900s.  Maker is unknown but I suspect that this is a commercially produced item. The top is beautifully made, in exactly the same way as basket weaving, and has been given three wire legs that have looped ends for feet. By thinking laterally,  I suppose this could be used in a variety of ways, other than a plant stand. Perhaps it could be used as a table for a 1/24th scale dolls house or perhaps a coffee table for 1/16th scale house. Or how about a cake stand for a 1/12th scale dining table or sideboard. In fact, I am sure you may be able to think of more uses….which makes this quite a versatile little item. Overall this is in a relatively good played with condition, some wear. Measures 7/8″ high x 1 3/4″ in diameter.

Ref: Wire Plant Stand

Suitable for a variety of uses in a variety of scale dolls houses – please read above

Antique Glazed Round Brass Frame With Hanging Chain & Old Photo @ £16.50

Here is a lovely very old (late Victorian/Edwardian) round brass photo frame with glass and original hanging chain attached. There is someone’s old family photo of two old ladies in Victorian (?) dress.  Obviously was someone’s family piece, but whoever buys this can replace with perhaps their own family photo or picture if wished? Should be easy to do via four pull back tabs found on the rear. This is a reasonably good used condition, however the brass frame is tarnished in places…but just adds to the charm. Frame measures 2 1/4″ in diameter and to the top of extended chain measures 4″ high.

Antique Wooden Pot With Artificial Tall Plant @ £8.90

Here is a tall antique artificial plant in a turned wooden pot, made from paper covered wire and paper.  This came with a bunch of varied antique dolls house furniture from the early 1900s – 1930s, so must assume that this is of the same era.  As you can see from the photos, most of the flower heads are missing petals, but nevertheless, this is quite an attractive little thing. Overall, this is in a played with condition, some paint loss to the wooden pot too. Stands at a height of 4 1/4″. Lovely item!

Suitable for both 1/12th and 1/16th scale dolls house.

Large Scale c1920s Britains Metal Painted Coal Scuttle @ £16.00

Here is a very old Britains painted metal coal scuttle in a gold colour. The metal wire handle is moveable. There is a tiny nibble in the rim of the base and some wear to the paintwork but as this is nearly 100 years old I think it can be forgiven. Nice item for an antique dolls house. Measures 1 5/8″ at highest point x 1 7/8″ long x 1 1/2″ wide.

c1945-1949 Two Glass Miniature Candlesticks – German (US Zone) @ £18.00

Here are two unusual glass candlesticks, one with a sticker underneath that states –  Made in Germany US Zone, so this would have been made in Germany presumabley between 1945 and 1949, as after that Germany became a Republic? They are exquisitely pretty and quite vibrant in colour still, and are in excellent played with condition. Each candle measures 1 3/8″ high.

Larger Antique Silver Glass German Candelabra @ £16.00

This is an antique German glass candelabra. The central body and base havea silver coloured coating over the top and the candles are pure white glass with a red tint at the wick end.
