General

All items on this page are of various scales and include not only genuine antique and vintage items, but also KT Miniatures handmade vintage style miniatures too.  For ease I have given measurements and where possible also stated what scale I think the item is. Many old dolls houses do not conform and scale is a mismatch. In this case, my advice would be to forget about scale and simply fill your little abodes with what you like.

“c1953 Elizabeth R” Coronation  Souvenir – Book Of Photos @ £9.50 SOLD

Now for something a little different! Here is a miniature metal c1953 souvenir book, commemorating the coronation of Elizabeth 2nd. It has an embossed crown, along with  Elizabeth R 1953, on the front of the book. On the back cover is the words MADE IN ENGLAND. Inside there is a concertina length of photos of the coronation, of both the Queen and Prince Philip. The length of photos should pull out as one but there is a split along one of the folds, and so the photos are now split into two separate lengths. This has a little loop at the top so would have hung as a charm or perhaps on a key ring? Could be useful for someone who has a dolls house where scale does not matter, and who is looking for something a little different. This is in a relatively good but used condition, some wear. Measures just over 1″ high x 1″ wide x 1/4″ deep.

Tiny Vintage Pink Metal Stool @ £4.00

Here is a tiny and very pretty pink painted metal stool of unknown make and era. There is no makers mark at all. It is in a good played with condition and measures 7/8″ wide x depth x 3/4″ high. A useful little item for the smaller scale dolls house.

Suitable for use with dolls houses of smaller scales

Old Wooden Chest With Some Old Curiosities @ £18.00 SOLD

Here is an old wooden chest with lift up lid, in a blue painted finish with a selection of curiosities. This chest and its contents came with a collection of antique dolls house items ranging from early 1900s to 1940s. I am selling this as a whole, as I feel these little bits should stay together with the chest. The chest’s interior has a base of crumpled tissue paper, underneath there is a child’s scribble. On the inside of the lid is the remnants of a piece of paper that says 9d, and on the exterior of the lid is a tiny split. The contents are two cream coloured doll celluloid combs, each measuring 1 3/8″. Please note that one of the combs has lost a “tooth”. There is a tiny magnifying glass, this measures 3/4″ long…and yes it does work! Also a very tiny metal picture frame with old photo of a woman – maybe in a 1920s hat – intriguing?  Finally, there is an attractive leatherette book with mock wooden insert. The wooden insert edges have been coloured in by a pencil or similar. Overall, along with the faults already mentioned above, the chest and items are in a relatively good played with condition. The chest measures 4″ long x 2 1/2″ wide x 1 1/2″ high. Could have a variety of uses in an old dolls house, a rather lovely and unusual item.

Late 1800s/Early 1900s German Ornate Soft Metal Umbrella/Walking Stick Stand & Three Walking Sticks @ £69.00

This is a lovely ornate soft metal umbrella & walking stick stand, believed to be of German origin from late 1800s – early 1900s. It is painted in a gold finish with black highlights. This came with three thin soft metal painted walking sticks, which is unusual, so I am including these too as they appear to be original to the stand. This does have a distinct Art Noveau look to it and would look fantastic in an antique dolls house hallway. This is in a good played with condition -some wear to the paintwork . Measures 3 1/2″high x 1 1/4″wide & deep.

Rare  Early 1900s Erhard and Söhne Ormolu Dinner Gong & Beater £69.00

Here is an increasingly rare Erhard & Söhne gong with beater. It is listed as No. 3099 in the Erhard & Söhne catalogue and can also be seen in the  Swantje-Koehler – Verlag  “Ormolu Dollhouse Accesories” book. It is in completely original and excellent played with condition. Even has the original red hanging cord, and it is especially delightful to still have the beater that hangs neatly on the side…these are so often missing. Measures just under 3″ high x 2″ wide.

Suitable for 1/12th scale dolls house or old dolls house where scale does not matter.

Pair Of Vintage Metal Candlesticks With Melted Wax Candles @ £4.00

Three Tiny Vintage German Wooden Trees @ £4.00

This is a first for KT Miniatures! Could be useful to someone, or even if you just put them on a tiny shelf for display?

Here are three tiny green painted wooden trees, from a vintage toy model village presumably and probably German origin. Very sweet. Their aged faded patina give these extra character.  Could look particularly effective with one of the very small scale dolls houses? Each tree measures 1 1/2″ high.

Probably most suitable with a very small scale dolls house

c1920s/30s German Metal Painted Coal Box @ £24.00 RESERVED

This is a lovely black painted metal coal box, marked GERMANY underneath, with a lift up lid. The lid has a delightful Art Deco design on the front that has been highlighted in gold paint. There is also a gold painted handle on the top. Nice item, in a good played with condition, a little wear. Measures 1″ wide x 1 5/8″ long x 1 1/4″ to top of handle.

Suitable for 1/12th scale dolls house

Antique Clear Glass Vase @ £8.50

This is a lovely antique clear glass vase,  believed to be early 1900s.   Unlike the preciseness and perfection in shape of the modern day miniature glass vases, the rim of this is delightfully not quite so perfect in shape, which   just adds to the character!  This is commonly found with the antique miniature glass pieces, the photo does not do it justice. Measures 1 1/2″ high. In good played with condition.

Suitable for 1/12th scale dolls house or old house where scale does not matter

Vintage Wooden Desk @ £10.50

Here is an unusual vintage wooden desk with a deep opening drawer, believed to be from the 1950s/60s.  I am not sure if this has been commercially produced or if it has been homemade, it has certainly been well made that is for sure and is a solid piece. I am calling this a desk, but it appears that at one time there would have been an extension piece on the side as there is a swivel support piece of wood tucked away out of view, could this originally been intended  as a sewing machine table? What an intriguing item. The handle on the drawer is an old upholstery tack. This is a really nice  useful piece of furniture in a good played with condition. Measures 3 5/8″ long x 2 1/8″deep  x 2 1/2″ high.

Vintage Style Painted Metal Parabolic Electric Fire @ £15.00

Here is a painted metal parabolic electric fire, believed to have been made from a Phoenix Model Development kit and probably painted to look old by an unknown artisan.  However, there is some genuine age to this too, and came with a mixed set of vintage dolls house items.  This is probably one of the earlier Phoenix kits, as this appears to have a bar across the front  which the modern day version of this kit does not have, plus the element on this older version appears to be a little different. It is delightful. The exterior has been given a pale green matt finish and the element has been painted red. It has a decorative handle on the top and a lever at each end. Measures 1 3/4″ wide x 2″ to top of handle x 7/8″ deep. I remember we had one similar in real life which I believe was from the 1950s? Lovely item.

Reproduction Pair Of Painted Metal Toby Jugs @  £13.50

Here is a pair of modern reproduction painted metal Toby Jugs that came together so am selling them as a pair, they are not so old and came with a mixed collection of  dolls house items from various eras. I think they are possibly by Warwick Miniatures and Phoenix Model Developments? They have been nicely painted, particularly the smaller one,  and are quite charming. The slimmer jug is in a worn condition with some paint loss, but the other is in excellent condition. The taller one measures 5/8″ high and the other one just marginally smaller.

Suitable for 1/12th scale dolls house

Vintage Style Cylinder Vacuum Cleaner @ £15.00

Here is a not so old vintage style vacuum cleaner, maker unknown but I believe it is artisan made, the kind of cleaner seen in the 1930s-1960s?  This came with an assorted collection of old and relatively new miniatures. It is in a good played with condition. I think the main body is leather covered wooden doweling,  with various details including handle, metal wire feet, lead and plug plus metal tubing with  wooden cleaning foot. It is actually quite cleverly made and would look at home in both old or modern reproduction dolls houses. The cylinder part measures 2″ long.

Early 1900s German Set Of Three Fireside Tools @ £15.00

Here is an early 1900s  set of three antique soft metal decorative gilt coloured fireside tools, comprising of a poker, tongs and shovel. They are lovely. Originally there would have been a stand that these hung on, but sadly long gone. Overall these are in a good played with condition, some loss of gilt colour off all three tools. Each piece measures 1 1/2″ long.

Suitable for 1/12th or 1/16th scale dolls house

Unusual Tiny Antique Wire Plant Stand @ £14.50

This is quite an unusual and rather lovely  plant stand, completely made from metal wire and believed to originate from the early 1900s.  Maker is unknown but I suspect that this is a commercially produced item. The top is beautifully made, in exactly the same way as basket weaving, and has been given three wire legs that have looped ends for feet. By thinking laterally,  I suppose this could be used in a variety of ways, other than a plant stand. Perhaps it could be used as a table for a 1/24th scale dolls house or perhaps a coffee table for 1/16th scale house. Or how about a cake stand for a 1/12th scale dining table or sideboard. In fact, I am sure you may be able to think of more uses….which makes this quite a versatile little item. Overall this is in a relatively good played with condition, some wear. Measures 7/8″ high x 1 3/4″ in diameter.

Suitable for a variety of uses in a variety of scale dolls houses – please read above

Antique Glazed Round Brass Frame With Hanging Chain & Old Photo @ £16.50

Here is a lovely very old (late Victorian/Edwardian) round brass photo frame with glass and original hanging chain attached. There is someone’s old family photo of two old ladies in Victorian (?) dress.  Obviously was someone’s family piece, but whoever buys this can replace with perhaps their own family photo or picture if wished? Should be easy to do via four pull back tabs found on the rear. This is a reasonably good used condition, however the brass frame is tarnished in places…but just adds to the charm. Frame measures 2 1/4″ in diameter and to the top of extended chain measures 4″ high.

Suitable for large scale dolls house or old dolls house where scale does not matter

Antique Wooden Pot With Artificial Tall Plant @ £9.50

Here is a tall antique artificial plant in a turned wooden pot, made from paper covered wire and paper.  This came with a bunch of varied antique dolls house furniture from the early 1900s – 1930s, so must assume that this is of the same era.  As you can see from the photos, most of the flower heads are missing petals, but nevertheless, this is quite an attractive little thing. Overall, this is in a played with condition, some paint loss to the wooden pot too. Stands at a height of 4 1/4″. Lovely item!

Suitable for both 1/12th and 1/16th scale dolls house.

Large Scale c1920s Britains Metal Painted Coal Scuttle @ £16.00

Here is a very old Britains painted metal coal scuttle in a gold colour. The metal wire handle is moveable. There is a tiny nibble in the rim of the base and some wear to the paintwork but as this is nearly 100 years old I think it can be forgiven. Nice item for an antique dolls house. Measures 1 5/8″ at highest point x 1 7/8″ long x 1 1/2″ wide.

Vintage O Gauge Railway “Wills Gold Flake Cigarettes” Tin Sign @ £8.50

Measures 2 1/4″  x 1 3/8″. In reasonably good played with condition, there is a large scratch across the top right hand corner, but inconsequential and helps with the aged look!

c1945-1949 Two Glass Miniature Candlesticks – German (US Zone) @ £19.50

Here are two unusual glass candlesticks, one with a sticker underneath that states –  Made in Germany US Zone, so this would have been made in Germany presumabley between 1945 and 1949, as after that Germany became a Republic? They are exquisitely pretty and quite vibrant in colour still, and are in excellent played with condition. Each candle measures 1 3/8″ high.

Rare c1950s Metal Lawnmower@ £45.00

This is a rare and quite delightful painted metal lawnmower,  precise maker is unknown but interestingly it came with the deckchair seen below and the green paint used on both are an exact match, so  I suspect they were made by the same manufacturer.  We know that the lawnmower was brought out as part of a miniature garden series by a distributing company called B&S (no relation to Barrett & son) but the exact maker is unknown. It has been suggested to me that they may have been made by DCMT but I have not been able to substantiate this as yet. There is no makers mark on this lawnmower.  It is fully intact with the moveable grass box and moveable rollers. Overall this is in a good played with condition, some wear to the paintwork. When you push it along it all the rollers and cogs move in synchronisation….wonderful! Measures 2 1/2″ high x 4 1/4″ long x 1 1/4″ wide.

Possibly suitable for both 1/16th  and 1/12th scale dolls house

c1950s Johillco Lead Kennel & Bulldog @ £11.50

Overall, this is in a relatively good played with condition, with some wear to the paintwork.  Kennel measures 1 1/2″ long x 1″ wide x 1 5/8″ high. Bulldog is tiny and measures 1 1/4″ long x 3/4″ high.

This is an antique German glass candelabra. The central body and base havea silver coloured coating over the top and the candles are pure white glass with a red tint at the wick end. Measures just under 2 1/2″ in total height so quite big but lovely. Generally I would say this is in good played with condition with some wearing away of the silver coating.
