1920s-30s Scroll Fretwork Sideboard @ £19.50SOLD
Here is a charming and unusual homemade wooden fretwork sideboard, dating from the 1920s/30s. The lower half has a delightful scrolled fretwork design framework, the upper half too. A decorative feature is a panel of coloured metallic paper dating from the era which is quite effective. The maker has added pencil decoration around and along all the edges. Am assuming these have been homemade from plans found in a magazine such as Handicrafts, Hobbies or Woodworker, but at the time of listing I have not been able to identify the design. One can see an ink registration stamp on the underside of the worktop wood. Overall, this is in a good played with condition, some wear. It measures 5 ¾” at widest point (pointy side bits) x 2 5/8” deep x 4 3/8” high x 2 3/8” worktop height. Lovely piece of furniture.
