c1989 Susan Dumper Mother Doll In Vintage Style Clothing @ £39.50SOLD
Susan Dumper was a highly regarded doll artisan who sold her dolls through the famous Singing Tree Dolls House Shop in London. She is also known for making the dolls that reside in the old Pembroke Palace Dolls House at Wilton House (Wiltshire). She used antique dolls to make her moulds and created them in her own distinctive style, they are highly collectable. Susan signed and dated her dolls on the back of the hair line, which are mostly hidden under the hair, but the date can usually be seen.
Here is a lovely bisque mother doll with soft body, made by doll artisan Susan Dumper and dated ’89 on the back of her hair line. Her limbs are moveable, and her head swivels. Her facial features including her glass eyes are simply stunning. Her imitation hair is beautifully styled, and she has tiny blue beaded earrings dangling from her ears. Her vintage style dress, petticoat, bloomers, crocheted hat and matching bag have all been artisan made. Her little brown/black laced up boots detail have been painted in a very distinct style that Susan Dumper was known for. She measures 5 ½” high and is in an excellent pre-loved condition. A beautiful doll.
