Early 1900s German Oak Decorative Cupboard @ £49.00
Here is a gorgeous and substantial early 1900s German oak cupboard, highly decorative and opulent in design, very typical of its era. The top half is supported by decorative turned pedestals, with two mock doors which are non-opening and for effect only, nicely shaped decorative top pieces and delightful enclosed top shelf with decorative trim. The lower half has one long opening drawer with both ornately shaped soft metal handles. Beneath are two opening doors with soft metal handles. Overall, this is in good played with condition, there is a little wear. Please note that both handles are missing from upper doors, plus in the bottom left corner of the lower right door there is a slight discolouration…possibly a weeny water stain? As this is well over 100 years old, I think any slight “wrinkles” can be forgiven. This is a magnificent piece of furniture for an antique dolls house. Measures 5 1/8” wide x 2 ½” deep x 9” high. NB. It is quite common to find the soft metal handles missing off this type of furniture, as the handles are quite fragile, particularly off mock doors that do not open. I suspect that in little hands, much pulling took place in an effort to get the doors open.
