Vintage Coal Box With Shovel & Embroidered Fire Screen @ £38.00
These two items came together, so I am keeping them together.
Here is a lovely vintage tin coal box and a gorgeous fire screen. The coal box is constructed from tin and painted black. It has a lift-up lid plus handle on the top, along with a loop at the back which holds a removable tin shovel. It is in a good played with condition, just a little wear. The fire screen is possibly more pre-loved than vintage I suspect, but it is very much in the vintage style and probably artisan made, although maker is unknown. It is of a dark stained wooden construction with metal handle. The panel has been delightfully embroidered with a scene of a lady in long dress surrounded by foliage. Overall, it is in a good used condition, there is a hint of aging on the fabric. Coal box measures 1” wide x 1 ¼” deep x 1” high to top of handle. Fire screen measures 1 5/8” wide x 2 ½” to top of handle x 5/8” deep at feet.
