Miniature Vintage French Style Épicerie Workshop – September 7th 2024

Miniature Vintage French Style Épicerie Workshop –  7th September 2024 – Saturday Only @ £145.00

Or

Combined Épicerie Workshop & Miniature Vintage Style Air-Dry Clay Food Workshop – All Day Saturday 7th September & 8th September Morning @ £175.00

Why not come and spend some time in the beautiful historic surroundings of the small barn within the Thame Barns Centre and learn how to make a freestanding miniature vintage style épicerie (French grocery store), complete with opening drawers, moveable canopy, tiny “tins” & packets, clock, old fashioned scales and crates – some being made with surprisingly ordinary everyday materials, including recycled items. (This project can easily be adapted into a different type of shop if you wish). These actual real life little antique/vintage shops which were originally made as toys, are more difficult to find these days as they are becoming real collectors items, so this workshop gives you the opportunity to make your own.

You will learn how to use grey board, card and even some recycled materials to make these items, as well as painting techniques using acrylic paint. All materials needed will be provided within your kit, including pre-cut grey board constructional pieces for the shop, plus glue, paints, etc., and a booklet of instructions. It is unlikely that you will complete the entire project in one day, so you will be able to finish your project in the comfort of your own home. The completed shop measures approx. 13 1/4″ wide (to end of handle) x 5″ deep x 11 1/2″ high (to top of sign).

Whether you are an experienced crafter/miniaturist or absolute beginner, simply reach your own creative potential and have fun along the way in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Work at your own pace and enjoy the experience of learning with like-minded people. Space is limited, as the classes are usually no more than six people so please do get in touch asap if you would like to come.

NB. The last photo above here shows some of the air-dry clay food items which can be made in the separate Sunday morning workshop being held the next day on September 8th. Full details of this workshop can be found on the next link on this Workshop page.
