Welcome To The World Of KT Miniatures - Established in 1997 - Now In Our 28th Year Of Trading

SATURDAY 9th MARCH 2024 – Old Style Kitchen Workshop – NOW ENDED

Come and spend some time in the beautiful historic surroundings of the small barn within the Thame Barns Centre in Thame (Oxfordshire) and learn how to make these old style pieces of kitchen furniture and accessories, convincing enough to use in your old dolls house kitchen or old miniature room setting. These photos show both the 1/12th scale and smaller 1/16th scale kitchen items – all attendees will be given instructions for both scales.

This project is being offered in both 1/12th and 1/16th scale, and you will learn how to use cardboard, card and even some recycled materials to make these kitchen items, as well as painting techniques using acrylic paint. The morning workshop has been designed to complement the afternoon project, so why not come and do both, and spend a whole day with us?  This project is so versatile, that the furniture and accessories can be finished in colours of your choice, and dimensions adapted to suit your old dolls house if required.

Whether you are an experienced crafter/miniaturist or absolute beginner, we want you to reach your own creative potential and have fun along the way in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Work at your own pace and enjoy the experience of learning with like-minded people. Much of this project involves using a craft knife, metal ruler and scissors to cut cardboard and card, so some manual dexterity in holding a craft knife particularly and careful measuring is required. But if you find it difficult, do not panic as help will be on hand. You will not complete the entire project in this three-hour session, but you will have instructions and all materials needed as part of your kit to take home, so that you can complete your project at your leisure.
