Antique German Cabinet @ £32.00

Here is a delightful antique German wooden cabinet which would look wonderful in a dining room or living room, perhaps even a bedroom. It belonged to the grandmother of previous owner and has been stashed away in a loft for many decades.

It is believed to originate from the early 1900s with an art nouveau influence in the design. The glazed door on the top display section opens. The lower central door with original antique metal decorative wreath opens to give useful storage space. The other two doors and drawers are for effect only and do not open. There is additional storage space above and below the lower cupboard door.  All metal domed tack handles are original to this piece of furniture and fully intact. I am assuming that a drawer is missing from above the lower opening door, as there is a splodge of dark stain on the tiny visible unvarnished wood panel (please last pic. above). Whereas, on the lower storage space, there is a stained backing so clearly meant to be a storage area. However, this is not too detrimental to this piece, as either a tray of cutlery, dish or pile of plates would look superb decoratively placed withn that drawspace in order to disguise any discrepency.  Overall, this is in a good played with condition. Measures 3 3/8” width x 1 ¾” depth x just a little over 7” in height.
